Trip to See the Indians
The Ohio Veterans Homes offer a quality of life which emphasizes privacy, encourages independence, provides comfort and security, and meets social needs.
Recreation Therapy helps our residents learn new approaches to old skills so they may continue to enjoy leisure time and live as independently as possible. Our residents also develop new interests which take advantage of existing skills as well as those that require the development of new skills. We offer many positive activities that add a “fun factor” to the daily lives of our residents. These include sports and games, exercise and relaxation, arts and crafts, as well as pet therapy, card tournaments, Wii games, competitions, concerts, picnics and other community outings. Recreation Therapy contributes to a healthy mind and body for our veterans and encourages them to enjoy life more every day.

Registered and licensed practical nurses, social workers, activity therapists, and dietitians develop an individualized care plan for every resident. Activities are an important part of each care plan. Live entertainment and visits from various veterans and fraternal organizations and local community groups promote diversity and enrichment. Holidays and birthdays are occasions for celebration. Devotional programs are offered daily by the ministerial staff.
